$200 Leak Find and Fix Rebate (ended)
*Please note this rebate has now ceased and is unfortunately no longer offered past 2018. Rebates through the Living Water Smart Program through Power and Water are still offered for irrigation. Please see their website for more information*
Pett Plumbing and Gas Darwin had partnered with Power and Water to deliver the Living Water Smart program in the Darwin region.
Rebates were available through us between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, to Darwin residents for the purpose of finding and fixing leaks. 1 in 8 homes in Darwin have a plumbing water leak. Living Water Smart aims to save 10 Gigalitres or 10,000 million litres of water over five years. That's 4,000 Parap pools.
Take the 3-Step-Leak-Check to see if you have a leak.
In simple scenarios the $200 rebate would cover the whole repair (including the cost for us to find and fix it, parts included).
Make sure that there is no water being used in your home before you do the test (e.g. Make sure the washing machine and dishwasher are not running, the toilet is not flushed and your irrigation is switched off).
Go to your water meter and watch for any movement on the dial. Smaller leaks will take longer to show.
Wait 5 minutes – remember not to use any water during this time.
Did your meter move?
